Death, Dying, and Shamanism

April 25 - 26, 2020

Latham, New York

Explore death, dying, and the afterlife through the eyes of the shaman.

In this highly experiential two-day workshop, you will learn about death, dying, and where the soul goes after death from a shamanic perspective.

You will discover how you can work with those who are dying in order to help them have a graceful and peaceful transition, as well as be taught the shamanic healing practice of psychopomp, whereby the practitioner helps souls who get stuck or confused after their death lovingly move into the afterlife.

In this workshop, you will:

- Meet your “death guide” who will help you in your work with death and dying.

- Learn how to assist those who are dying, as well as their families, in the death process.

- Practice the art of tracking.

- Work to release fears you may have around death and the afterlife.

- Explore first-hand where the soul goes after death.

- Meet with a departed loved one to work through unfinished business.

- Learn the shamanic healing method of psychopomp to guide lost or stuck souls into the Light.

- Participate in a group psychopomp ceremony.

- Learn how to use psychopomp to assist in the healing of individuals, buildings, and disaster sites.

- And much more.

This training is suitable for anyone with confidence in their shamanic journeying skills who is interested in understanding and gaining first-hand experience of the hereafter, and is especially suitable for hospice workers, healthcare professionals, grief counselors, the terminally-ill and their families, and those who want to help lost souls cross over into the afterlife.

Death is not an end; it is a transition from this reality into a transcendent reality. In our culture, there is much fear around the death process, for both the dying and their families. This workshop will help you to explore life after death for yourself so that you may be a compassionate and learned guide to those who are dying.

Please bring an eye covering (such as a bandana or sleep mask), pen/pencil, notebook, and a packed lunch. Optional items to bring include a drum, rattle, and sacred item to place on the altar.

Prerequisite: Must have strong journeying skills. You can take an in-person beginner's workshop on shamanic journeying with me in January 2020, from a teacher on, or online from Sandra Ingerman at
